How does one explain cooperation

Hello again:

When we get into these discussions I think we would do well to first get a
dictionary and look up the meaning of a word. My dictionary defines
communism as "a social system based on common ownership of property, means
of production, etc.."

Doesn't sound like the demon we battled for so many years during the cold
war, but I also don't read anywhere in Deming that he advocated such a
social system. What he did say was that the system must be managed.
Otherwise the system tends to deteriorate into competing factions. Things
such as managing by the numbers, profit centers, ranking, performance
management systems work against the system and keep people from working
together for the benefit of the system.
