These are my feelings.
Management is responsible for the system.
Our Systems will change:
- If management applies resources for changing the system;
- If we have a significant emotional event that changes our governing
and/or business system due to catastrophe(s);
- Slow change happening overtime like paint fading.
Management is responsible in every one of these arenas, because they
control resources.
Managers may hear, see and feel that current methods of management will
doom us. Senior Managers want to keep doing what they have always done
because they have no reason to do anything else. Worse case is that they
will be dead when their great grand children will be cleaning up the mess
and restructuring to World Governing Regulations.
I remember the emotions that Dr. Deming put behind his statements when
talking about Management's responsibilities.
The New Economics "Second Edition": ISBN 0-911379-07-X; Chapter 2; then
page 100; then pages 177 through 189. This emphasizes the point I am
attempting to make.
Respectfully,
Charlie
