There were book reviews on the subject in I believe in Technometrics(?) and
Journal of Quality Technology.  The methodology was in a book by a K Bhote.
The book review was negative.  There were also technical articles on some of
the methods in Journal of Quality Technology.  They were also negative.  I
am sorry I can't give you more specifics.  My guess is these articles
occurred in the literature in the last ten years or so.
