Natural Capitalism

I searched the DEN archives for both Natural Capitalism
and Amory Lovins and got only one hit - a 1999 BADUG meeting
minutes report in which the speaker cited a Lovins paper.
So, it appears that the DEN has not discussed this approach.

I encountered Mr. Lovins and his ideas quite by chance,
about two weeks ago via NPR on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
The radio broadcast appears to have been essentially a
reading of paper he (and L.H. Lovins, P. Hawken)
published in the HBR in 1999 - A Road Map for Natural
Capitalism. This paper, and everything else I have found
and read, seems to be an excellent example of the practical
application of Dr. Deming's teachings. Yet in none of the
papers or other materials I have examined do I see the
"usual" citations associated with systems thinking - Deming,
Ackoff, Senge, etc.

Am I on to something, or is there good reason that DENizens
have not discussed this thinker?

Steven Byers
