Wisdom from many sources.

I have read all the posts in recent weeks and have the following
observations.

There is a great deal of wisdom coming through in DEN posts, though
the sources may not always be obvious.

Some of the greatest wisdom is precipitated by the kinds of questions
being asked by those who claim to know least, for they are seekers of
knowledge.

We are not islands unto ourselves, and I would remind all members that
the very beginning of the World Wide Web was due to the perceived need
to share information and scientific studies among many of the
laboratories and centers around the world. We can do no better than to
express our own understanding, limited though it may be, in a format
that allows for peer review of problems and questions that are raised
by members and others.

This may appear to be a train wreck in progress, but at least we have
some guide posts, and in providing assistance to others we can still
make the whole greater than merely the sum of the parts.

One of the sad ironies about the Internet is that it is text based,
and so the communication can be imperfectly understood since we cannot
pick up on the visual and verbal cues.

I know that I have taken misguided approaches to problem solving in
the past. I am confident that I shall not do so in the future.

The difference is in experiencing the epiphany of a major paradigm
shift in my understanding, mainly due to material having to do with
Deming and Shewhart, as discussed so often in the DEN.

You never know what kernel of truth you may impart, or to whom, but
that doesn't mean that you make no difference.

Still learning after all these years.
