RE: something new about Feuerstein

I would propose a small addition to the beginning of Myron's list of ....

>1) Knowledge -- leading to understanding.
>2) Know-How -- leading to the ability to put knowledge to work.
>3) Wisdom -- the ability to know when, where and whether to use knowledge
and know-how.
>4) Character -- leading to an ability to be a better person for other
people to connect with.

0) Concepts -- leading to identification as sound basis for observation and
the acquisition of knowledge

Consider the concept of teaching: is teaching...
 (a) working ON students in order to ensure heir acquisition of
knowledge....or is it
 (b) working WITH students ON their personal (and shared) systems for
acquiring knowledge, know-how, wisdom, character....?

It seems to me that WED's SPK and Feuerstein's methods are much more aligned
with (b) than with (a).

On the other hand worldwide education systems, with the best of intentions,
persist in assuming that the correct concept of teaching is (a). Sadly this
is sometimes true some people who know about quality. This is because a
widely held concept remains largely unexamined.

Most people now accept that the world is not flat. There is a similar
development needed in relation to teaching and learning.
