Thank you, Jim for posting Russell Ackoff's interview.  He is a great 
inspiration and I use many of his educational films in my classes at TCC.  I have 
felt  Dr. Deming's SoPK and Russell Ackoff's systems thinking approach really go 
hand in hand.  My students who are introduced to SoPK  really begin to 
understand where Dr. Deming is coming from once I have them watch Russell Ackoff's 
System's Thinking video.  It really brings the concept together for them.  
Often, I hear that Dr. Deming's philosophy is too ideational and not prescriptive 
enough.  Yes, I don't disagree with that but as pointed out in the interview, 
one cannot expect quick fixes when dealing with complex systems and I don't 
know many businesses that are not complex.  Again, we fall into the trap of the 
fallacy and promotion of short term quick fixes.
