Hello DEN:
We were provided the following list from Mr. Tribus and Mr. Webb. I do know
what to call this list. To me it is operational definitions for the
hierarchy of learning.
1) Knowledge -- leading to understanding.
2) Know-How -- leading to the ability to put knowledge to work.
3) Wisdom -- the ability to know when, where and whether to use knowledge
and know-how.
4) Character -- leading to an ability to be a better person for other people
to connect with.
0) Concepts -- leading to identification as sound basis for observation and
the acquisition of knowledge
Is there a similar hierarchy list with definitions regarding the material
being learned?
Something like:
letters/digits
words/numbers
sentences/formulas
data
information
trends
A friend and I have been trying to determine the difference between the
words "data' and "information" and this lead to wondering about a general
hierarchy.
