Hello DEN:
I am very much enjoying this thread and appreciate all of the responses. It
is giving me new knowledge which I hope leads to understanding and wisdom.
I would like to reiterate my original question using slightly different
words.
What is the difference between "information" and "data"? We looked up these
words in dictionaries. We are still trying to understand if there is a
function/operational difference with these two words.
The best we have come up with is:
Data - a collection of facts
Information - knowledge communicated concerning a particular fact
Thank you, Dirk
