Hidden Factory

Hello, Denizens,

Can anyone provide a clue as to the origins (preferably in citable
literature) of the term "Hidden Factory?"

There is some of what I believe is Rule 4 variation getting out about this
term now, and I would like to make a formal response, so I am starting a lit
search. I have some directions, but would like to poll the vast wisdom in
this forum to get some more guidance.
