Re: PDSA & Enumerative -vs.- analytical approaches

It is quite difficult to get along with the way it expresses here. If
it is considered in this way, any change, should we say any MINUTE
change must come from the OUTSIDE. The experience/training inside the
system should be considered an outside activity ?? By inside means, by
our own senses, by our own motivation, by our own initiative. If the
claim of Mr. Nelson is true, then whoever involved with Deming or any
Quality Guru or any Quality book or a teacher gets an inspiration from
outside, that's right. But what about those who are not so inclined to
or inspired by these works, they have not changed, in the case expressed
they must also change? So here, when Mr. Dowd is referring a CEO, the
CEO might have had a strong inspirational thought or vision to change,
and then he tried Deming's way. The thought for change might have
existed before. Why the change is required, the thought might have
generated from the bad requirement of existing system improvement. So
sometimes, existing system itself gives a real reason to act towards
change.
