RE: STUDENT REQUEST: Implementing Deming's Approach

1) What specifically did you implement from the Deming approach? Any
particular focus?

- Primarily the Knowledge of Variation piece initially since the initial
issue was performance data, and especially use of SPC in conjunction with
performance data.

2) Did you include any other approaches along with Deming's?

Currently I am looking at incorporating Russ Ackoff and Peter Senge's works
on Systems.

3) What tools did you select for your quality initiative?

Primarily SPC.

4) What industry are you in? Sometimes the industry will drive the approach
used.

Government contractor operating the Hanford Washington Department of Energy
Site.

5) How long did it take (or will it take) to implement the approach?

Been working on it for 11 years now. The full System of Profound Knowledge
may never be fully implemented.
