RE: Statistical Analysis

>The person who did this prior to me used Pivot tables which seem to be
reasonably straight forward, sort of. Any clues advice or the like? Cheers

Personally, I use either Visual Basic programming or Excel array formulae to
process my data to make it ready for SPC. Array formulae are a good option
for small to medium sized data sets. Once you get too large though, the
computer really bogs down and Visual Basic is much better. I tend to use VB
for all of my routine work, since I just have to press one button and the
computer will then on its own execute all the data crunches I need for
hundreds of charts at once.

Array formula have the advantage that they automatically update the results
if you change the source data. With pivot tables, you must rerun the whole
pivot table if the data changes.

If you would like, I could send you a few examples of an array formula if
you drop me an email. The internal Excel help on array formula is really
pretty good also.
