Re: Random Numbers



Dr. Deming once told me that R A Fisher's operational definition of 
'randomness' was the best he had seen:  Of or relating to the same or equal chances or 
probability of occurances for each member of a group--without a design, 
method, or purpose.  In Fisher's world, the operative word in the OD was CHANCE.  I 
am told that Shewhart also preferred this definition.
