Mike Woolbert makes an interesting observation about the PURPOSE of an 8
minute ambulance trip.
The medieval City of York is mostly narrow one-way streets or 'pedestrian
only' and teeming with tourists and shoppers 364 days of the year. Tourists
are often surprised by the sound of an emergency siren and look around
expecting to see a police car or ambulance bearing down upon them. Instead
they find a uniformed and helmeted, suitably equipped, paramedic or police
officer pedalling furiously through the throng on a mountain bike, lights
flashing and siren wailing.
Think about it.
