Very good point indeed, it does make one think  :-) Obviously the
PURPOSE of the person on the mountain bike is not to render care and
transport the patient, but only to render care ASAP.

What if trained care could ALREADY be at the location! I just took a
first aid course here in Canada and we were trained in Automated
External Defibrillation (AED) as well as CPR and first aid. Have we
considered the Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) movement and universal
first aid training?

This all makes me think of Myron's excellent Norden Bombsight post, how
wide do we cast the net of the system?
