I agree with Jonathan... the market is not in alignment with constancy of purpose beyond maximize near term return.  No one individual or company, or even one whole industry is in a place to attempt to change the focus from near term to constancy of purpose.  The only thing large enough to accomplish the change is the government and for me that translates to congress changing the IRS code.  

So, seems like Deming's current challenge would be finding some way to educate Congress.  

Now then, have I missed something?
