The best way to think of statistical process control is to recall its 
purpose: insight.

Too many people get "wrapped around the axle," by number crunching and 
arguing about this chart versus that chart. You should view your data as a 
resource to be mined. Keep asking how can I get the "voice of my processes" 
to speak up a bit louder.
