Regarding the comment that science is a religion.
Religion is defined as: A belief in a super-human controlling power, In a personal god or gods entitled to obedience, a system of faith and worship, life under monastic conditions.
Science is defined as: branch of knowledge, esp one dealing with material phenomena and based on observation, experiment, and induction: systematic and formulated knowledge; pursuit of this; skillful technique.
Given these two definitions I would say that it is inaccurate to state that science is a religion.
