Hello Denizens. The reason why many individuals refer to science as a
religion, is because it is based on certain metaphysical and epistemological
a priori assumptions, which cannot be proven but that are self evident. For
example the Aristotelian principle that A is A, and A cannot be B at the
same time. This statement is the basis for none contradictory thinking or
logical thinking and is the foundation the scientific method.
The self evident and a priori arguments are the ones used by many religious
people to criticize science.
Just some thoughts that might help.
Best regards to everyone,
Carlos Méndez
