Company A seeks and attains ISO 9000 certification because their main
customer informs them that without it, they will no longer be considered as
a supplier. They do all that they can to suppress and hide non-conformity
from their customers.

Company B seeks and attains ISO 9000 certification because they consider
they can use it as a blueprint to improve their performance. They openly
discuss issues with customers, begin to use the PDSA cycle and deploy a
range of business improvement tools and techniques across the Company. They
atively seek improvement suggestions from front line staff.

It is the same standard....
