Learn, Apply, Extend
Is there not a massive challenging in moving from the learning phase to =
the application phase.
World wide have we not been good at the teaching/learning phase? But how =
good have we been at the applying phase?
We certainly have not been great here in Aberdeen, Scotland
I was wondering if the problem might be rooted in our traditional =
perception of learning - in that it is done by an expert instructing a =
student - and when the instruction is concluded then the relationship =
disconnects.
But in practice learning is a long term, cyclical system, which includes =
the conceptual teacher and the practical learner in a continual dynamic =
learning system - both parties contributing to and taking from the =
system. If the practical manger does not contribute to the learning =
system, then there is a great danger that the teaching gets disconnected =
from reality. Is this not what happens in our Universities and Schools =
of Management?
