RE: Derivation of d2 from Range Distribution



Hi,

Tippett wrote a paper in 1925 and E Pearson followed with a paper in 1932
developing d2.  (Biometrika)
It is of interest that Kendall and Stuart vol 1 (Advanced Theory of
Statistics 5th edition)give an upper bound for d2: 1.155 for n = 2.  Not
much different from the 1.128 we are accustomed to using in a mR chart.
