Both Taylor and Deming responded to their perception of a vital business
need of their time. They were both very successful in achieving the results
they intended. Which has had the greater impact? We can thank Taylor for our
present standard of living, but it is parhaps Deming we will thank if we are
able to maintain that standard of living another 50 years or more.
