Management is a science based on theory

Peter Collis put forward an acceptable interpretation of Scientific =
mananagement: - I agree - he described as:
rigorous collection of data, then interpretation using the best =
available knowledge we have",=20

And then in John McConnell's fantastic posting he talked about Susan and =
Ivan by saying

"Both are lifelong learners themselves. Both are intellectually solid,
understand education theory and stay abreast of new developments.

In our complex chaotic world there is most certainly NOT just one way - =
but what we would wish to promote is a sound basis for our actions and a =
foundation for our learning

"Without theory one has no questions to ask. Hence without theory, there =
is no learning" (WED - in TNE page 103)
