I may be reading this posting incorrectly or out of context. However, it is
this idea of giving the best possible returns to stockholders versus
stakeholders that I see as one of the core problems with business in the
western world.

If we concentrate on stockholder value and not value for all of the
stakeholders, then we will work to short term financial targets.

This is not to disregard stockholder value. But we must consider all of the
interactions and inter-connectedness of our organization with all
stakeholders.
