The short answer is "Yes"
The longer answer is: There is a probability distribution for manager's
attitudes towards the time/profit. It is heavily weighted towards the
short term. For such managers, there is very little hope. I am not young
enough to live long enough to change them.
There are, however, many people who want to make a contribution and think
beyond money. They can and do learn. But they are not in the majority.
