BDA EASTERN May Meeting Notice
- Subject: BDA EASTERN May Meeting Notice
- From: Phil Richardson <par@primex.co.uk>
- Date: Tue, 4 May 1999 11:13:17 GMT
First, a quick thumbnail sketch of last month's Meeting:-
We had another great meeting in April.
One of our Eastern Group members, Brig Archer of Brignall Archer Quality Associates, introduced us to the Investors in People (IIP) strategies and tied them into Deming's writings.
Brig noted that researching his talk had helped him see the many links between IIP and Dr Deming. Later he noted to me that he integrates Deming into his IIP work unconsciously, so we all learned a number of new things from the evening's discussions. (A copy of Brig's main slides will be sent via the post.)
During our reflections on IIP, we were able to contrast the approach with several other organizational improvement strategies including ISO 9000 and Kaizen. We held off comparing it with the Business Excellence Model, for that is the subject of May's meeting.
Our thanks to Brig and all who attended in April for helping demonstrate the value of regularly attending our monthly meetings.
So, make our next meeting in two weeks time and you too can profit.
