DENizens,

I have been told by one of the members of Joyce Orsini's inaugural Deming 
Scholar students at Fordham U. that Dr. Deming once told them that he started 
at 85% - when no one complained - he raised it.  Don't know how true this is, 
but it also raises the question of where is the data (evidence)?  At first, I 
found the story hard to believe.  It has become more believable over the 
years as I have not been able to locate any data to back the 85% statement or 
its modification upwards over the years.
