How can that be?

This, to me, is the biggest mystery of the Deming SoPK. Would I be accurate
in the following statements, or is it overstating Deming's contribution?

1. The principals now embodied in the SoPK enabled the factories in the USA
to produce sufficient quantities of war materials and machines of high enough
quality to enable the Allies to win WWII.

2. The SoPK brought an entire nation (Japan) from a state of chaos, rubble,
and demoralization to an economic world power in just 5-10 years.

3. The SoPK has in large measure, directly or indirectly, accounted for most
of the increase in the quality of American goods and services since
1981-which allowed us to catch up, somewhat, in the economic race.

4. Due to numbers 1 - 3 above, the SoPK has, literally, changed the economic
picture of the world.

This is just my small understanding of the impact of the SoPK and it leaves
out the impacts in most other countries. I invite other DENizens to add to
this list. If the above things are true...

How can that be?
