With great success, from private to public sector, from blue collar to senior 
management, from multiple native language groups (e.g., EFL [English as a 
Fifth Language]), from adults with an average 6th grade education to PhDs 
(these are the toughest) I have had great success with the Red Bead game. I 
"customize" it to a specific audience if the entire audience is from a single 
group, and, when possible, obtain samples of data of what the organization is 
measuring and making decisions about.

I then use the Red Bead control chart as the basis for expansion to the other 
charts/data types, etc.
