Re: Sides to the Deming Practice

Further to my note of 21 June

I have jsut been discussing a project with a colleague and it occurred to
me that BPR has often failed precisely because it has ignored the lessons
of the British Coal Industries case.

It has often been an elegant technical solution that has ridden
rough-shod over the social and psychological needs of the people involved.

By involving all those affected, and incorporating the bouncing ball,
aapproaches like Real Time Strategic Change, Lean and so on offer us ways
to make step change that are congruent with the Deming Management Method.

with best wishes
