For those that are not aware, creating and using lists is now
possible, free and easily at a variety of hosts. Rather than wait for
"da bossman, Jim" to sanction such efforts, why not just do it. It
takes five minutes to set something up.
["da bossman's Note: I assume with the promotion, I get a big pay raise
and a corner office??]
I have been playing with the idea of spinning off on some of my own
lists particular the performance management list which has grown
as big as most of the majors this year.
Just as a suggestion, I see one possibility as setting up a "channel
#2" for focused, specific problem solving, planning, case studies
etc which has a relatively short lifespan and is moderated by one
person. For example, for two weeks on channel 2, one could have
someone provide a context and data points, and ask the
participants to act as "consultants" to the process. Or, one could
have a one week discussion on making an entrance into an
organization, or internal marketing strategies for Deming's work.
...and since most lists can be archived easily these focus lists
could be included in the DEN Site via a simple link.
...all it takes is a few people to get up off their..ummm...chairs.
