This is a green idea and I am certainly open to, and even encourage,
ideas and discussion. Jim Clauson >>

Jim,

On 4/26/99 Frank Voehl wrote: "Dr. Deming challenged me to explain the quest

managers could understand." I know this quote because I cut it out and taped
it onto my computer monitor. When I can learn this, or figure it out myself,
my confidence level (and usefulness) will increase about 10,000 percent.

IMHO, more than anything else, this is the true challenge of the DEN--finding
the right words and simulations. I can increase my own understanding of the
SoPK indefinitely, but I know that until I can explain the SoPK in ways that
people can readily understand, most of the good that lies within my small
knowledge of the SoPK will remain inside my head--unrealized outside myself.

This, I believe, is the root frustration of those in the DEN who want to
effect a transformation outside of their own personal sphere of influence.

It is, I believe, the primary prerequisite for the adoption of the SoPK on a
widespread basis. You have now articulated a long-standing frustration of
the DEN as a thread and I eagerly await the responses.
