Years ago there were lots of control charts at Toyota and Honda but as
processes came into tight statistical control the charts were referred to
less often. They crept into drawers as plots were made less often. But the
methods still seem to be in use. Toyota is still busy perfecting the
process and making careful changes to reduce variation. Honda is teaching
suppliers how to control processes.

Ford and GM have been a mixed bag in my experience. Some locations used the
charts and the principles an others simply missed the point.
