Greetings, BADUG readers! -- You are invited to attend the Bay Area 
Deming Users Group 10-Year Anniversary Conference.  This day of
learning, including the opportunity to network with associates who
share an interest in Dr. Deming's work, is being held in recognition
of BADUG celebrating its 10th year of activity.  We hope you can join
us as the day's presenters each share their unique viewpoints of how 
Dr. Deming's teachings continue to make a difference.

Scheduled Speakers:

Diana Cahill Deming
  - We are privileged to have one of Dr. Deming's daughters help us
     open the conference;
Scott Zogg, Director of Human Resources, K/P Corporation
  - K/P Corporation is an international graphics communication company.
     Scott will speak about the transformation process of becoming 
     a "Deming Company", application of Deming’s philosophy in
     Leadership, Team Concepts, Human Resources and Financials. He
     will also talk about the importance of those in Leadership roles in
     K/P understanding the application of Profound Knowledge.;
Del Nelson, American River Community College
  - Del is a long time student of Dr. Deming's work, and has guided a 
     number of Deming study groups in the Sacramento area.  He will 
     speak on the topic of psychology and its place in improvement;
Art Darin, Principal, Mt. Pleasant High School, San Jose, CA; 
Ida Jew, Superintendent, Mt. Pleasant Elementary District
  - Art and Ida will talk about their experiences in leading efforts in
     East San Jose schools to improve the process of student learning;
Eve Okumura, Director of Training, Kapiolani Hospital, Hawaii;
Nida Backaitis, consultant in management and organizational systems  
  - As an intern of the late W. Edwards Deming, Dr. Backaitis worked
     extensively with Deming in his consultancy, seminars, and writing.
     She will share with the group her perspective on the evolution and
     the aim of Dr. Deming's "System of Profound Knowledge."  She will
     also point out areas to which extension of SoPK might be especially
     beneficial.
