Durao from Brazil asks about the main difficulties in introducing

As we go about our daily management activity we use management theories.
The majority of us are not aware that we are using theories nor what those
theories are. We therefore have a poor basis for learning.
Secondly we see evidence relative to our existing theories. We miss
evidence that does not correspond to our thinking or theories.
i.e. if we believe that people are motivated by rewards we see evidence
that supports that belief and completely ignore the evidence that refutes
it.
Challenging our management theories requires deep thought - in the majority
of cases this thought process is avoided by the use of methods or
techniques - a manager can persuade himself that he is working hard and
progressing by the application of TQC or ISO 9000 for example, when in fact
he is not moving his thinking at all, he has not developed his thinking/
theories Of course this applies to us all
