Re: Holist Extremism, Gold Stars, Motivational Development, Etc.
Kromkowski@aol.com wrote many complex issues for us to think about which
I cannot think clearly now. But some story-telling can be used as
another mode of science.
Thinking may has many modes or ways(for most psychologists, mabe two or
three interactive ones are enough but some prefer with
muplti-intelligence) but it is a whole process.
WED talked about some known researchers and scientists work for
themself(intrinsic motivated? But in B. F. Skinner's view, they are born
for their 'vocations'.)
I like to add Rober Southey's(1774-1843)stories as the illustrations.
He wrote his history on Brazil 'for fun'. He used the 'Gold Star' from
Cambridge Univ. for silver coffee pot for his wife. He refused the
'rewards'(honor) from his King...(to live a simpler life, not with
people's expectations.)
I think their are plenty examples. All people are different but not so
different.
