If we read WAS's classic work, we'll know his 'total'(system) view.
Japanese translated TQC into 'synthsized or integrated quality
management' in late '50 or early '60( copyright owned by Hitachi
company).At that time WED was for SQC( I believe he knew it will never
be popular again. This is a subject of marketing, not the subject of
economic he was concerned with).
Ever since then, TQC is popular although in '80 they were proud with
CWQC or GWQC(G for Group).
Now TQM conquered JUSE and many Japanese.
Long live the notorious TQM!
Who care?
All movements, including '80 TQM, were like fashions.
