Yes, this is supportive of what I was getting at.

A school of Sociology (Symbolic Interactionism) discusses this in 
detail.  Probably the most well known of these sociologists is George 
Herbert Mead - 

Societal interaction is, for the most part, learned.  Since societal 
interation is ongoing, so is learning.  Societal interaction is also 
cumulative, so that one cannot 'undo' what has gone before.  As has been 
said by Heraclitus, 'One cannot step in the same stream twice'. (given 
variation it  was said once by Dr. Lloyd Nelson, that, "One cannot even 
step in the same stream once."
