Thanks Yamada San gave us some information to think.
Perhaps every winner of Deming Prize can tell us some good stories.
For Kobayashi, several years ago the Economist gave an introduction of
him under the 'face value' section(one page)--I think it is available in
its internet data base.
The essential message is Kobayashi went to USA Creative Leadership
Center for study and he was very surprised with the Antigone and later
very impressive with it.
The later part of his effort of promoting it in Japan by the Economist
was wrong( IBM Japan and other companies have some top management summer
school in one resort area for last 20 years, not Xerox...)The book on
'WED as a great leader' is not available...
Well, what is my purpose of this mail? Showing?/sharing? I am thinking
what is information, what is knowledge and what did I learn from my
probings three years ago.
'Great books' approach in 'leadership education might be good for some
people. Very few people read Drucker's recommendation of Xenophon's book
on leadership( see one of my previous mail in DEN).But most Japanese
learn through 'history fictions' and cartoons. So did USA kids like
Japanese one.
I believe in the potential markets in this direction. WED is right the
customers are most important...
